Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use Home Access.

1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number, residential address, and identity documents for KYC verification. We also automatically collect device information, usage data, location data (when permitted), and log data when you interact with the App. Payment information is collected and processed by our licensed payment partners and is not stored on our servers.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your personal data to provide and improve our services, including account management, visitor access control, bill processing, facility bookings, and community features. We also use data for security purposes such as fraud prevention and SOS response, to send service notifications and updates, to comply with legal obligations, and to generate anonymised analytics that help us improve the platform.
3. Data Sharing
We share your data only as necessary to provide our services. This includes sharing with your estate management for administration purposes, with payment processors for transaction handling, with security personnel for access control and emergency response, and with service providers who assist in operating the platform. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Any data sharing with third-party service providers is governed by data processing agreements that ensure adequate protection of your information.
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data, including encryption of data in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256), secure cloud infrastructure with regular security audits, role-based access controls for internal systems, regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, and incident response procedures. While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Your Rights (NDPR)
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), you have the right to access your personal data and obtain a copy, rectify inaccurate or incomplete data, request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements), object to or restrict certain processing of your data, data portability in a machine-readable format, and withdraw consent at any time. To request account or data deletion, use our online form at homeaccess.africa/delete-account, contact our Data Protection Officer at hello@homeaccess.africa, or use the Data Export feature in Settings > Privacy.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. After account termination, we retain certain data for up to 5 years as required by Nigerian financial regulations and tax laws. Anonymised data may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes. Visitor access logs are retained for 12 months for security purposes. You may request early deletion subject to our legal retention obligations.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information. Household member profiles for minors must be created and managed by their parent or legal guardian.
8. Changes to Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
